About AuthoritySlot
What is AuthoritySlot?
AuthoritySlot is an independent website that fact-checks online gambling brands and explains how slot games work. Every page cites its sources and shows when it was last checked.
Do you run or own a casino?
No. AuthoritySlot does not operate, promote or link to any gambling service.
How does AuthoritySlot make money?
We do not earn from the brands we check and we do not sell rankings or paid placements. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed clearly on every page it affects.
Who writes your content?
Our editors research each page using regulators, official company information and trade press, and list every source at the bottom of the page.
Brand checks
What is a brand check?
A brand check is a fact-check of an online gambling brand: who operates it, which regulators license it, whether it is legal to use from Singapore and Malaysia, and the risks.
Does a brand check mean you recommend the brand?
No. A brand check is information, not an endorsement. We never link to the brands we check or show their bonuses.
Which brands have you checked?
See all published checks in Brand checks, including BK8, Dafabet, Winbox and V-World. New checks are added regularly.
Can I ask you to check a brand?
Yes. Use the contact form and choose “Request a brand check”.
What if a brand check is wrong?
Tell us through the contact form with the page link and the source. We check it, correct the page if needed and note the change.
Gambling laws
Is online gambling legal in Singapore?
Only through Singapore Pools, the one operator licensed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) to offer remote gambling. Using an unlicensed online operator while in Singapore can lead to a fine of up to S$10,000, up to 6 months’ jail, or both. Read our full guide.
Is online gambling legal in Malaysia?
Malaysia does not license online casinos, and the communications regulator (MCMC) blocks gambling websites. Proposed amendments to the Betting Act 1953 aimed at online gambling had not been enacted as of March 2026.
Does a Curaçao, Malta or Philippines licence make a site legal in Singapore?
No. A foreign licence does not make a service legal to use from Singapore. What matters is whether Singapore’s GRA has licensed it.
How can I spot an unlicensed gambling site?
Common warning signs include promotion through Telegram, WhatsApp or SMS “agents”, very large deposit bonuses, frequently changing web addresses, and requests to pay through personal bank transfers.
Slot games
What does RTP mean?
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money wagered on a slot that it is designed to pay back over a very large number of spins. It is a long-run average, not a prediction of what any single session will return.
What is slot volatility?
Volatility describes how a slot’s payouts are spread. Low-volatility games tend to pay smaller amounts more often; high-volatility games pay less often but can pay larger amounts.
What are Megaways slots?
Megaways is a reel mechanic in which the number of symbols on each reel changes every spin, so the number of ways to win changes too, up to 117,649 on the standard six-reel version.
Can the same slot have a different RTP at different sites?
Yes. Many providers offer several RTP versions of the same game, and the operator chooses which one to run. The game’s information screen shows the version in use.
