Me88 Review 2026: Is Me88 Legal in Singapore & Malaysia?

Me88 review: who runs it, the Curaçao licence it claims, and whether Me88 is legal in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Independent fact check.

EDITOR NOTE – delete before publishing: Please double-check (1) the 29 September 2023 press release (source listed as OKE Distributor SDN BHD) and the 6 October 2023 European Gaming article that the brand facts rely on – https://www.newsfilecorp.com/release/182056/me88-Becomes-First-Online-Casino-Malaysia-to-Secure-Gaming-Curacao-License and https://europeangaming.eu/portal/latest-news/2023/10/06/144601/me88-becomes-first-online-casino-malaysia-to-secure-gaming-curacao-license/; (2) our observation that web search results for “me88” return several different domains using the name (seen in search results on 24 October 2026; not opened, not linked).

Quick answer: Me88 (styled “me88”) is an online casino brand marketed to Malaysia and Singapore. Its own press releases claim a Curaçao licence, but we could not verify a licence number or the company behind it. It holds no licence from Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand, so using it from those countries is against the law.

This Me88 review is an independent fact check, not an endorsement. We looked at who runs Me88, what licence it claims, and what the law says about using it from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Where we could not confirm something from a reliable source, we say so plainly.

What is Me88?

Me88 is the name of an online casino and betting brand promoted to players in Malaysia and Singapore. Most of what is publicly written about it comes from the brand itself. A press release distributed through the Newsfile wire service on 29 September 2023 described me88 as having “operated in the industry for more than 10 years”, but gave no founding year, no company address and no named operating company. The only company named on the release is OKE Distributor SDN BHD, listed as the source of the release, and the contact given was a marketing email address.

A trade-press article published by European Gaming on 6 October 2023 repeated the same claims and quoted a spokesperson. That article relied heavily on company-supplied material, and its headline called me88 the “first” Malaysian online casino with a Curaçao licence, while its own text only said “one of the few”. We found no Wikipedia entry, regulator filing or independent investigation that identifies who owns or operates Me88.

It is also worth knowing that a web search for “me88” returns many different websites using the name, including some aimed at other countries. We could not confirm which, if any, is the official site, which is a common pattern for brands in this market. We do not link to any of them.

Who licenses Me88?

The only licence claim we found is in the brand’s own 2023 press material, which says me88 was granted a “master license of gaming service provider” by the Government of Curaçao. Neither the press release nor the European Gaming article gives a licence number, an issue date or the name of the licensed company. We checked the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s public licence register but could not confirm an entry for Me88 or a linked company, so we treat the licence as not verified.

Even if a Curaçao licence exists, it would not make Me88 legal in Asia. A Curaçao licence does not cover Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand. We could not find a licence from Singapore’s GRA or any Malaysian authority, and none exists for Thailand, because Thailand does not license online casinos.

Is Me88 legal in Singapore?

No. Under Singapore’s Gambling Control Act 2022, Singapore Pools is the only operator licensed by the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) to offer remote gambling. For anyone searching Me88 Singapore, the key point is that Me88 is not licensed by the GRA. Playing with an unlicensed online operator while you are in Singapore is an offence that can lead to a fine of up to S$10,000, up to 6 months’ jail, or both. Advertising unlawful gambling to people in Singapore is also an offence. For the full picture, see our guide on whether an online casino Singapore site can ever be legal.

Is Me88 legal in Malaysia?

No. Many Me88 Malaysia searchers assume an overseas licence makes it lawful, but online gambling is prohibited in Malaysia under the Betting Act 1953 and the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, and Malaysia has no online casino licensing system, so no operator can hold a Malaysian online licence. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) blocks gambling sites; more than 5,000 were blocked between 2022 and early 2025.

In February 2026 the government said it was drafting a new law focused on enforcement against illegal online gambling. It had not been tabled as of March 2026, and when we checked in October 2026 we found no report that it had been tabled or enacted. Read more in our online casino Malaysia guide.

Is Me88 legal in Thailand?

No. Online gambling is illegal in Thailand under the Gambling Act B.E. 2478 (1935). Only the government lottery and licensed horse racing are legal. The Entertainment Complex Bill dealt with land-based casinos only and was withdrawn in July 2025. See our online casino Thailand guide.

Risks of using Me88

  • No local regulator to complain to. If a dispute arises over a balance or a closed account, there is no Singapore, Malaysian or Thai authority that can step in, and the company behind the brand is not publicly identified.
  • Blocked and copycat domains. Many websites use the Me88 name. Sites in this market are often blocked and replaced, which makes it easy for scam copies to imitate the brand.
  • Payment problems. Banks and e-wallets may block or reverse gambling transactions, and money sent to an unlicensed operator is very hard to recover.
  • Legal risk. Players themselves can face fines or jail in Singapore and prosecution in Malaysia and Thailand.
